Yurika Kobayashi ( Japanese 小林 友 里 花 Kobayashi Yurika , born October 29, 1995 in Hasuda , Saitama Prefecture ) is a Japanese J-pop singer who appears under her mononym Yurika .

Life

Yurika came on 29 October 1995 in Hasuda in Saitama Prefecture on the world. She learned to play the piano at the age of three . Through groups like Morning Musume and her subgroup Minimoni , the decision to start a music career grew in her early on. After the piece Genesis of Aquarion singer Akino in a commercial had heard she began also to be interested in anime music. Series like Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu and K-On! later influenced her decision to interpret songs for anime .

During her time at high school , Yurika took part in various anime music singing competitions, including the Animax Anison Grand Prix . In 2014 she took part in a singing competition hosted by the television network Nippon TV and finished in sixth place. She took first place in a singing competition sponsored by NHK . Two years later, in 2016, she won a casting for the Tōhō company and was signed by Toho Animation Records .

In February 2017, Yurika released Shiny Ray, her first professionally produced single, which can also be heard as a song in the opening credits of the anime series Little Witch Academia . In May of the same year, their second single, Mind Conductor, was released, which can also be heard in the Little Witch Academia series. Their third single, Kyōmen no Nami, followed in December 2017 . The song can be heard in the opening credits of the anime Land of the Lustrous . In 2018 she recorded the opening song for the visual novel Summer Pockets with Futari no Hane . Their published singles all reached listings in the Japanese single charts determined by Oricon .
