Yutaka Niida
Yutaka Niida ( Jap. 新井田豊 , Niida Yutaka ; * 2. October 1978 in Yokohama , Japan ) is a former Japanese boxer in the straw weight .
Professional career
In 1996 he started his professional career successfully. On August 25, 2001 he boxed against Chana Porpaoin for the WBA world championship and won on points. He lost this belt to Noel Arambulet in his first title defense in July 2003 .
On July 3 of the following year he became WBA world champion for the second time when he defeated Noel Arambulet in the rematch on points. This time Niida defended the title seven times in a row and lost it on September 15, 2008 to Roman Gonzalez through a technical knockout in round 4.
After this defeat, Niida ended his career.
