Yvon Tapy

Yvon Tapy , in some sources also Yvan Tapy , (born December 13, 1939 in Niort ) is a former French entrepreneur and racing driver .

Racing career

Yvon Tapy worked as a BMW dealer in his hometown Niort and took part in selected sports car races as a driver in the 1980s and 1990s . With Roland Bassaler , a dealer colleague from Laval , he competed twice in the Le Mans 24-hour race on his Sauber SHS C6. Third driver was Dominique Lacaud both times . After a 23rd place overall in 1985 , the trio was not classified in 1986 due to a lack of distance covered.

In the 1990s he competed in the French touring car championship , where he made a comeback for a total of three races in 2003 and 2005 at the age of sixty.
