Yvonne Illing

Yvonne Illing (* 11. April 1971 ) is a former coxswain in rowing from the German Democratic Republic . In 1990 she drove the last eighth in the GDR.

Live and act

The rower from SC Dynamo Berlin achieved third place at the GDR championships in 1986 with the club eight. In 1988 she won the GDR eighth at the Junior World Championships . After a second place at the GDR championships in 1989, she won the last GDR championship title in eighth place in 1990 together with Christiane Harzendorf , Micaela Schmidt , Annegret Strauch , Ute Wild , Heike Winkler , Annette Hohn , Ramona Franz and Ute Wagner . This eighth finished third behind the boats from Romania and the United States at the 1990 World Championships in Tasmania. In 1991, Yvonne Illing finished eighth in second place at the German championships. At the 1991 World Championships , she drove the all-German eighth, which finished fifth.

After a break for a few years, the 1.60 m tall Yvonne Illing returned to competitive sport in 1998 as a member of RV Saarbrücken . From 1998 to 2000 she won the German championship title three times in a row with eighth place. At the World Championships in 1998 and 1999 , she finished sixth with the German eighth.
