Yvonne Kempen

Yvonne Kempen (* 1960 - April 11, 2011 ) was a municipal civil servant ( CDU ) and full-time mayor of the city of Meckenheim in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Live and act

In 1978 Kempen passed the Abitur . After that, at the age of 24, she graduated from the Sports University in Cologne . She then studied classical philology, pedagogy and sports history at the University of Cologne . She completed her studies with a master's degree . In 1990 she did her doctorate in Berlin . From 1990 to 1995 Kempen was an advisor to the CDU parliamentary group in North Rhine-Westphalia .

She then worked on the staff of the President of the Bundestag Rita Süssmuth as head of department.

In 1999 Yvonne Kempen was elected full-time mayor of Meckenheim. She was re-elected in 2004. In November 2007, after disagreements with the council and the higher authorities, she was voted out. Her successor as mayor was Bert Spilles .

Personal

Kempen then withdrew from politics and went into business for himself. Together with Dirk Holtermann, a journalist, she founded the Gundermann Academy . They offered z. B. Certificate courses in herbal education .

Yvonne Kempen last lived in Lüftelberg . She died of cancer at the age of 51.
