The ZDFwochen-journal was a weekend magazine that was broadcast on ZDF until December 15, 2012.

The program, which was renamed from TOP 7 to ZDFwochen-journal on May 12, 2007 , was broadcast on ZDF on Saturdays at 1:05 p.m. and showed the most important and noteworthy news and events of the past seven days from the fields of politics, business and sport and culture. The format was broadcast in 16: 9 widescreen format .

The reports were profound and up-to-date. The fixed components of the television program included interlocutors such as experts and celebrities on current topics of the week, which could be dealt with in particular once again as part of a focus. In the “Week on the Web”, an editor from the online editorial team showed the weekly web review. Towards the end of the broadcast, a detailed weather forecast was presented by a meteorologist. At the end, impressions were shown in the series “Pictures of the Week”. The weekend magazine usually lasted 55 minutes, occasionally it was shortened to 35 minutes.
