The ZO! Gospel Choir is a gospel choir from Amsterdam , Netherlands . The name of the choir ZO! stands as an abbreviation for the founding place in Amsterdam-Zuidoost .

history

The ZO! Gospel Choir was founded in 2010 and already took part in a choir competition of a television station in December 2010, from which it emerged as the winner. The choir quickly achieved international fame and performed with orchestras, including the Het Metropole Orkest and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw , as well as numerous gospel and soul singers such as Sam Smith , Whoopi Goldberg and Candy Dulfer . Together with Oleta Adams , a concert took place in 2014 as part of the worldwide Masterpeace events in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam . The ZO! Gospel Choir regularly performs in concerts and on television and has been involved in various studio productions. The sold out concert to mark the choir's fifth anniversary took place on April 5, 2015 in the Paradiso concert and event hall. Sabrina Starke appeared as a guest singer . Since the beginning of 2016, the choir has been building up a young talent group with 8 to 22 year old singers.
