Zabba Lindner

Wolfgang "Zabba" Lindner (born December 15, 1949 in Köthen ; † June 23, 2017 in Hamburg ) was a German drummer and composer .

He came to Hamburg with his family via Mannheim in the early 1960s. His father Max Lindner was first percussionist in the NDR Symphony Orchestra under Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt and Günther Wand for over 20 years.

Lindner played jazz and rock, led seminars in schools, gave workshops and worked in the crossover sector. He wrote several symphonies, a. a. the “Mountain Rock Symphony”, which was performed in Bad Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden in 2003/2004 together with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra and the Salzburg Young Philharmonic. Among other things, he played with Sphinx Tush , Tomorrow's Gift , Release Music Orchestra , the Even Mind Orchestra and full service .

In October 2015 the duo The Two formed with the Hamburg-based saxophonist Kurt Buschmann , who has been performing Lindner's compositions "Melodies of the Hamburg Symphony" since January 2016.
