Zaid ar-Rifaʿi

Zaid ar-Rifaʿi ( Arabic زيد الرفاعي, DMG Zaid ar-Rifāʿī ; * November 27, 1936 in Amman ) was Prime Minister of Jordan twice (May 26, 1973 to July 13, 1976 and April 4, 1985 to April 27, 1989).

Both his father Samir ar-Rifaʿi and his son, the eponymous Samir ar-Rifaʿi , were prime ministers of Jordan.

After studying at Victoria College in Cairo , he studied at Harvard University and Columbia University in New York . He later worked in the Jordanian embassies in Cairo, Beirut and London as well as at the UN in New York.
