Zasnezhennyj Island ( English ; Russian Полуостров Заснеженный Poluostrow Sasneschenny , German ' Snowy Peninsula' ) is an island in the Highjump Archipelago off the Knox coast of the East Arctic Wilkesland . It is in the immediate vicinity of Dieglman Island .
Scientists on a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped it as a peninsula in 1956 and named it. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia transferred this name in 1989, adapted in a transcribed partial translation into English.
