Lists on the subject

The Zastava CZ-99 is a self-loading pistol from the weapon manufacturer Zastava Arms . (Zastava serb .: "Flag") (CZ 99 = Crvena Zastava devetdeset devet serb .: Red flag ninety-nine)

history

This pistol replaced the Zastava M57 and Mod.70 around 1990. Development of this handgun began around 1988 . After it became clear that the M57 was no longer state-of-the-art, the Serbian National Army wrote out a new weapon. The choice fell on the newly developed CZ-99.

technology

The CZ-99 is a semi-automatic recoil loader. The swivel barrel locks in the slide as a corresponding part of the barrel slides into the ejection window. In form and function, the pistol is strongly influenced by the German-Swiss pistol SIG Sauer P226 , but has some modifications compared to it. A special feature of the CZ-99 is the ability to switch the trigger to DA ( Double Action ) or DAO ( Double Action Only ) using a selector switch. Another feature of the CZ-99 is that it shows the shooter whether there are three or fewer rounds in the magazine.

After the CZ-99 had proven itself in the National Army of Serbia , it was also introduced to the Serbian Police in 1992.
