The Zbečnický potok , also called Materník , is a right tributary of the Metuje in the Czech Republic .
course
The Zbečnický potok rises east of Horní Kostelec on the hill V Ráji (515 m nm) in the Polická vrchovina ( Politzer Upland ). On its upper reaches, the brook flows at the foot of Končinský Kopec (530 m nm) in a south-easterly direction past V Pustinách.
South of the Maternice (576 m nm) the Zbečnický potok reaches the village Zbečník. His further course leads through a heavily populated valley to Hronov. There it flows through the factory premises of Wikov MGI as and is then bridged by the Choceň – Meziměstí railway line. On its last section, the Zbečnický potok is piped from Smetanova ul. Through the urban area of Hronov, where it takes the Stříbrný potok underground. At the footbridge to the skate park, the Zbečnický potok flows into the Metuje after 4.9 km.
The valley of the Zbečnický potok forms the border between the Polická vrchovina and the Náchodská vrchovina (Nach or Upland ).
