Zdeněk Troška
Zdeněk Troška (born May 18, 1953 in Strakonice , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech film director and screenwriter .
biography
Zdeněk Troška grew up in Hoštice and studied directing at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts as well as at the Lycée Carnot in Lyon, France . He completed his studies in 1978 and made his debut alongside directors Vladimír Drha and Jan Ekl with the episode film Jak rodí chlap as a film director for a feature film. He made his first two films as sole director in 1983 and 1984 with The Shoe Named Melichar and The Treasure Of Count Chamaré . With his film trilogy Slunce, seno… he made his hometown Hoštice known nationwide.
Zdeněk Troška is openly gay.
