Zdenko Kobešćak (born December 3, 1943 in Zagreb , Independent State of Croatia ) is a former Yugoslav football player on the position of midfielder . He was also the coach of the traditional Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb for a short time .

Career

Even as a child, Kobešćak played football on a meadow not far from his parents' house. At the age of 14 he came to Dinamo Zagreb , where he was initially used in the youth teams. His career as a professional football player at Dinamo Zagreb began in 1962. After 86 appearances, 16 goals and great successes, he left Dinamo in 1967 to move to Slovenia for NK Maribor . With the Slovenes he ran in 74 games and scored seven goals. In 1970 he left the club and only one year later in 1971 he moved to France to Stade Rennes . He did not stay long at the traditional French club from Brittany , when he changed clubs again in 1972 and signed a contract with ÉDS Montluçon .

International

Kobešćak came from 1963 to 1964 to two missions for the Yugoslav national football team , but scored no goal. He made his debut in the national team on October 27, 1963 in Bucharest in a game against the national soccer team from Romania , which the Romanians could only just win 2-1. Kobešćaks second use was on November 22, 1964 in Belgrade in the 1-1 draw against the national team of the USSR .

Coaching stations

In 1985 Kobešćak took over the coaching position of his former club Dinamo Zagreb , but in 1986 he gave it to Miroslav Blažević .
