Ze'ev Revach

Ze'ev Revach ( Hebrew זאב רווח) - (born 1940) is an Israeli comedian , actor and director. He is a star of the Israeli film genre Bourekas films .

Life

Revach was born in Morocco . He served in the Israel Defense Forces before studying drama in Tel Aviv . Since graduating from Beit Zvi Drama School, he has appeared in 30 films.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz describes Revach's films as a "bizarre Israeli genre of comical melodramas and stirring pieces ... based on ethnic stereotypes of the 1960s and 1970s."

Some of his films, especially Hasamba , Hagiga B'Snooker and Charlie Ve'hetzi , established the cult of the Bourekas films.

Film awards

In 2000 Revach won the Israel Film Academy best actor award for his role as Shabtai Kassodas in Beitar Provence , and in 2014 he received it for At the End of a Party .

In May 2010 he received another award at the Sderot Film Festival . The festival organizers justified their decision by stating that his films are "critical, subversive Israeli and Mediterranean texts in form and content."
