The Jalousie colliery in Bredenscheid-Stüter near Hattingen is a former hard coal mine . The colliery was also known as the Shalusie colliery .

Mining history

The mine was already in operation in 1769. This year the reel servant was appointed to manage the kerbstock . In 1789 the Zeche Jalousie was entered on the map of Niemeyer. There were several Schachtpingen north of today's Elfringhauser Straße and west of Am Geitling . In the years 1835 and 1839 the colliery was demonstrably in operation. On March 7, 1845, a square was awarded . The coal that was extracted was transported by horse-drawn tram to Kidneyhof . In the course of the year 1845 the colliery was laid in time limits .

In 1867 the mine was put back into operation. In 1869, two tunnels were in operation, but they were only low in height . In 1875 the Jalousie colliery was still in operation, around 1880 the colliery was shut down. In 1897 the Jalousie colliery for the Hopesthal colliery was closed.

Promotion and workforce

The first production figures come from the year 1867, 59 tons of hard coal were produced . In 1869, 336 tons of hard coal had already been mined. The first workforce dates from 1872, in that year twelve miners were employed at the colliery, who produced 2032 tons of hard coal. The last known production figures of the mine come from the year 1874, eight tons of hard coal were extracted.
