The Theophilus colliery in Durchholz is a former hard coal mine . The mine emerged from the renaming of the Ferdinand colliery .

history

On January 19, 1765, the expectation was placed on a coal bank. The mother of this coal bank was Johann Henrich Rust. However , the mother was forbidden to mine coal until inspection . In 1771 were as trades of the merchant Johann Peter Sternberg and the co-heirs Sternberg in the documents of the mining authority entered. The length field of the colliery Ferdinand was born on 2 October of the year 1822 awarded . In December of the following year, the Ferdinand colliery went into operation. First, an old tunnel was cleared . In 1824 the name was changed to Zeche Theophilus. In the same year, a tunnel began to be excavated and a shaft was sunk that year . In 1835, the shafts Ludwig and Gottlieb were promoting . In May of 1837 the mine was closed. In the following period up to 1870 there was still a small amount of mining . From 1870, the mine was closed in time limits . In 1934 it was planned to restart the mine, but this plan was not implemented.

Further use

In 1954, a small mine with the same name was put into operation on the pit of the Theophilus colliery . However, this small mine was only in operation for a few months between May 20th and October 20th. The owner of the small mine was Willi Paschen. On October 20, 1954, this mine was also closed.

Promotion and workforce

The first production figures come from the year 1830, 826 tons of hard coal were produced . In 1835 976 tons of hard coal were mined. In 1837 the production was 805 ½ Prussian tons of hard coal. These are also the last known figures for the mine.
