The Ulrich colliery in Sprockhövel (district of Hiddinghausen ) is a former hard coal mine . The mine began as a small mine , from 1956 the mine continued to be operated as a colliery. The mine was owned by the Scheufelen AG paper mill.

history

The beginnings

The mine was put into operation on June 1, 1951. The Berechtsame included the Henriette and Charlotte fields. These fields were owned by Papierfabrik Scheufelen AG. Then there were the fields of the Klare union . The majority of this union was held by Papierfabrik Scheufelen AG. The field owned by the union Kläre consisted of the square fields Klare, Sieper & Mühler II, John and Julius, also several unnamed Längenfelder the former colliery Germany . In total, the rights holders covered an area of ​​13.5 km 2 .

The further operation

The bill Ulrich had two bays in promoting the tonnlägigen shaft Ulrich and tonnlägigen shaft hail Siepen. The Ulrich shaft had a shallow depth of 320 meters and the Hagelsiepen shaft had a shallow depth of 150 meters. In 1958 an old Bremsberg from 1894 was approached, this Bremsberg belonged to the disused mine Germany. In the same year, a briquette factory was put into operation on the site of the former Uhlenberg mine . At the beginning of the following year, the briquette factory was shut down again. In 1963 the briquette factory was put back into operation. On June 1 of the same year there was an underground firedamp explosion , people were not harmed. On September 15, 1966, the Ulrich colliery was shut down.

Promotion and workforce

Only lean coal was extracted from the mine. The first known workforce and production figures for the mine date back to 1952. At that time, 74 miners were employed at the mine, who produced 16,848 tons of hard coal . In 1955 the production rose to 39,452 tons of hard coal. This funding was provided with 95 employees. In 1956, around 45,000 tons of hard coal were extracted. The maximum funding was achieved in 1959 with 108 employees. 51,709 tons of hard coal were mined. In 1960 the production sank to 41,307 tons, the workforce this year was 104 employees. In 1965 the production sank again to 40,113 tons of hard coal, this production was provided with 94 employees. These were also the last known workforce and sponsorship figures.
