Mining history

The mine was already in operation in 1720. On December 19, 1732, a length field was awarded . In 1739 the mine had increasing problems. On the one hand, the mine caused high costs, on the other hand, the mine also had poor sales of the coal produced at that time. In the same year the mine was measured . In 1754 the mine was in operation under the name Wypestertz. In 1755 the mine was one of the largest collieries in County Mark. This year 13 miners were employed at the mine. In 1771 the mine consisted of the two wings Wippsterz and Lauseplatte . In the years 1772 to 1778 the coal mined was shipped over the Ruhr to Kleve . In 1796 the mine was no longer mentioned in the documents. At that time the mine was already closed. It was not until 1845 that the mine was mentioned again in the documents. At this point the mine mouth hole had already been broken . In 1857 and in the following years the mine was back in operation, the mine field was solved by the United General & Erbstollen colliery . In 1867 the mine was still in operation, in that year 8,921 tons of hard coal were extracted. Subsequently, the mine was probably closed in time limits . From 1869 the mine was out of order.
