With 32 climbing routes in levels of difficulty 2 to 8 ( UIAA ), it is one of the most important climbing destinations in the Trubach Valley.

The Zehnerstein was first climbed before 1900, probably by locals. However, this has not been documented. In 1967 an oversized wall hook was installed on the Zehnerstein as a landmark. The summit book is attached to this.

In the vicinity of the Zehnerstein there is another climbing destination in the northern Franconian Jura, the Wolfsberger Felsentor .
