Lake Zell is part of the south-western part of Lake Constance called Untersee . It lies between the Mettnau ( Radolfzell ) peninsula in the north and the Höri peninsula in the south. In the west it is bounded by the Radolfzeller Aachried .

The Zeller See reaches a maximum depth of 22 meters.
