Zenda Jacks

Zenda Jacks , née Suzie "Sue" McCloskey (born May 7, 1955 in Wednesbury , Sandwell , England ) is a British singer .

Life

Suzie McCloskey, now married Tundervary, daughter of a car dealer, trained in ballet as a child . After breaking off her training as a secretary, she trained as a beauty nurse in London and then worked in a Birmingham department store. At a birthday party, her singing talent was discovered by two members of the Burmingham band Muscles . McCloskey then also took singing and piano lessons and learned to play the guitar. While performing with the Muscles , she was discovered by nightclub owner Peter Stringfellow and Alvin Stardust , and Stringfellow became their manager. She got the record deal with the Magnet Records label .

In 1974, Magnet Records released her debut single Rub My Tummy under the pseudonym Zenda Jacks . The label they marketed from the beginning with the words "The Goddess of Rock" ( The Goddess of Rock ). Rub My Tummy was widely played on the radio and made a name for herself in the glam rock scene. The title also appeared on the Magnetic Hits sampler in 1976 . The single Earthquake followed in 1975 ! and in 1976 her third single, Do You Love Me, produced by Pete Waterman . With Earthquake she appeared on August 20, 1975 in the Musikladen series . She made headlines in England at the time as the partner of mud drummer Dave Mount. She then sang in a big band at the Wakefield Theater Club.

From 1978 to 1979 she replaced Penny McLean in the German disco band Silver Convention , but left the group because of her marriage to a businessman whom she met on the Mexico tour. Under her nickname Sue McCloskey , the single I Really Need Your Love was released in 1981 . After a long hiatus, she made a musical comeback as a background singer for the former British band Hard Rain .

In 2003 she was divorced for the second time and was named Suzie Tundervary . At the time she was living in the center of Birmingham, where she worked as a front-of-house manager at the posh club Mechu Bar & Grill .
