The Zender GmbH was a Fahrzeugtuning -Company, which was founded by Hans-Albert Zender and existed from 1969 by 2008. The company cooperated with Ford , VW , Fiat and Opel .

In 1969, at the age of 23, Hans-Albert Zender founded HAZ . In Bassenheim near Koblenz, he produced individual car bucket seats on special request and flared fenders for NSU TT made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic .

From 1974, Zender produced body parts made of ABS plastic and polyurethane foam. Ford became a customer. A contract with VW followed in 1975 for Scirocco Cup vehicles - flared fenders, front and rear spoilers . In 1977 the Zender study "VW Scirocco - Group 5" was presented. In 1978 the first Zender alloy wheel came on the market. In 1979 the company moved to Mülheim-Kärlich. In 1984 he created the design study Vision 1S , which had a futuristic-looking lines and angled swing doors . In 1989 the sports car prototype Fact 4 Biturbo premiered at the IAA in Frankfurt, the first street-legal sports car in the world to be equipped with a monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . The open version of the Fact 4 Spider followed in 1991, and the Progetto 5 in the mid-1990s . In 1999 the Thirty Seven appeared with an output of 230 hp and a top speed of 253 km / h.

Zender Thirty 7 (1999)

In 1999 the Zender Thirty 7 was presented at the IAA Frankfurt. Shortly afterwards, the Roadster Straight 8 was also presented. It had a 3.2 liter six-cylinder BMW engine with an output of 321 hp, which helped it to reach a top speed of 250 km / h. 2000 saw the commissioning of Zender Modification Center in Italy for special series production for Fiat and Opel Special Vehicles for the conversion of Opel -Sonderfahrzeugen.

On September 1, 2008, the Tuning division was discontinued. The dealership continues to exist with Michael Zender as managing director.
