The Central Western Carpathians (Polish Centralne Karpaty Zachodnie ) are a mountain range of the Western Carpathians in Poland ( Lesser Poland Voivodeship ) and Slovakia . Its highest peak is the Gerlach at 2655 m in the High Tatras .

Demarcation

The border to the Outer Western Carpathians forms the Pieninen rock belt in the north , the most striking part of which is the Pieninen mountain range . In the south, the Inner Western Carpathians join, which extend as far as Hungary .
