Zhang Chunyi

Zhang Chunyi ( Chinese  張純一  /  张纯一 ; 1871 - 1955 ) from among Hanyang , Province of Hubei , was a Chinese philosopher, historian of philosophy and scholar who in the time of his classical education Qing Dynasty acquired. He conducted research on various philosophers, especially the pre-Qin period (e.g. on the texts Mozi and Yanzi chunqiu ), on Buddhists and Christianity.

According to a study by Jinxue Feng devoted to his religious and intellectual career, he tried “to interpret Christian teachings on the basis of Chinese culture, especially the Mo school and later Buddhism .” He died in Fushun City in 1955 .
