Zheng Zhemin
Zheng Zhemin ( Chinese 郑哲敏 , Pinyin Zhèng Zhémĭn , also known as Cheng Chemin in English-speaking countries ; * 1924 in Jinan , Shandong Province , China ), is a Chinese physicist who specializes in explosion mechanics .
biography
Zheng's family is from Yinzhou District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province . But he was born in Jinan (Shandong Province). He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tsinghua University in 1947 . He received his Masters in Science and PhD from the California Institute of Technology .
Zheng was the general director of the Mechanics Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the president of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. Zheng was also the editor-in-chief of the Chinese Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics .
