Zhu Zaiyu

Zhu Zaiyu ( Chinese  朱 載 堉  /  朱 载 堉 , Pinyin Zhū ​​Zàiyù , W.-G. Chu Tsai-yü ; * 1536 in Huaiqing , Henan - today's Qinyang in Jiaozuo ; † 1610 ) was a prince of the Chinese Ming dynasty and a mathematician and musicologist. He was able to calculate the equal tuning for the first time relatively precisely in 1584 using a system of nine-digit numbers.

Among other things, he wrote the work Caoman Guqinpu ( 操 縵 古 琴譜 ) on the Qin game.

His grave in Qinyang City is on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-174) .
