Zhuanshi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Chinese book Zhuanshi ( Chinese  馔 史  - "History of Drinks and Food") has been handed down without giving the author's name. Its volume is one booklet ( juan ). It is not a work of history in the strict sense of the word, as suggested by the character 史 (shi) in the Chinese title, but rather mixed records on the subject of eating and drinking.

It contains valuable materials for the history of Chinese food and drink culture from the Western Jin Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty .

The work consists largely of excerpts from works from bygone times.
