Zigzag Island ( English for zigzag island ) is a small island with steep coastal cliffs in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located immediately south of Tower Island .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the bird's-eye view of the zigzag folds of the island .
