Zimmer is a district of Seckach in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg ( Germany ).

Zimmer used to consist of the villages of Oberzimmer at the confluence of the Schlierbach into the Seckach and the Unterzimmer, which no longer exists today, in today's Gewann "Boden". There was also a drought room at the confluence of the Rinschbach and the Seckach. Oberzimmer is identical to the current town of Zimmer.

history

Zimmer is mentioned for the first time in 782 in the Lorsch Codex as a cymbal in pago Wingartheiba . The place name changed several times, it was 976 Cimbra , 1278 Cimmern . In the 13th century the lords of Dürn were the feudal lords. In 1240 the property was sold to the Seligental monastery . After its abolition, the village came to the Kurmainzische Hofmeisterei in 1568, to the Principality of Leiningen in 1803 and finally to Baden three years later .

On January 1, 1972, Zimmer was incorporated into Seckach.
