Cistercian convent Michelfelden-Blotzheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cistercian convent Michelfelden-Blotzheim was a convent of the Cistercian women from 1252 to 1450, first in Saint-Louis , from 1267 in Blotzheim , Haut-Rhin department in France .

history

The Cistercian convent Michelfelden, founded in 1252 in today's district of Michelfelden in the city of Saint-Louis near Basel , was moved in 1267 by Bishop Heinrich von Neuenburg to Blotzheim and existed there until 1450, from 1442 as the priory of the Lützel monastery . From 1450 until it was dissolved by the French Revolution, it was populated with a few Lützel monks. The estate in Michelfelden, which initially belonged to the nuns, was later sold. There are no remains of him. In Blotzheim (in the Rue de Hésingue ), a baroque mansion built by the Lützel monastery testifies to the former monastery.
