Zollbrück is a place in the Emmental administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

Zollbrück is located in the municipality of Rüderswil and Lauperswil . A merger of the two communities was rejected in a ballot on May 17, 2009. The merger failed due to the rejection of the Lauperswil voters. However, the two communities maintain a joint secondary school, and the border between the two communities runs across the football field west of the Emme .

history

The place got its name from the bridge that leads over the Emme and which has been linked to the right to bridge tolls since 1551. The place developed from 1552 around the bridgehead, where an economy had also settled. The inhabitants were traders, especially builders, nail smiths, spinners and weavers as well as day laborers.

With the construction of the Emmental Railway in 1881 and the Talstrasse in 1899, there was an economic boom.

Zollbrück today has a well-developed infrastructure with a service center, banks, insurance companies, primary and secondary schools, a regional retirement home and businesses.
