Zombie Fluxx :
Origins Award : Traditional Card Game 2007

Fluxx is a card game that is played with a set of 100 specially designed cards.

The most important feature of Fluxx is the fact that the rules of the game are constantly changing during the game due to the cards being played. The game begins with a basic rule according to which each player draws a card and then plays one. By playing control cards , however, these rules can be changed and expanded at any time. There are also action cards that allow the player to take one-off actions such as stealing cards or removing rules. At the start of the game there is no set goal; this is only determined in the course of the game by playing a target card and can also be changed again. Most of the objectives involve the player winning with a certain combination of collectors that otherwise have virtually no effect on the game. Bums can, however, prevent him from winning. There are also some blank cards included in the game that can be filled with players' ideas.

Fluxx was designed and first published by Looney Labs in 1996 . The game was successful and a year later it was licensed to Iron Crown Enterprises (ICE) for further distribution. After ICE went bankrupt two years later, Looney Labs again took over the publishing and distribution. In 2002, Looney Labs produced a revised edition of the original game. The German game publisher Amigo issued a German edition under license from 2003. After the game was not available for some time, it has been released by Pegasus Spiele in a revised version with 100 instead of 84 cards since 2011 , the group of bums is new . Other available variants are Zombie Fluxx and Cthulhu Fluxx. Both are independent games, but can also be combined with the original game.

LooneyLabs has released a few more Fluxx variants, including Oz Fluxx, Star Fluxx, Pirate Fluxx, Monty Python Fluxx, Martian Fluxx, Family Fluxx and EcoFluxx. These games have not yet been published in German. (At least the game Piraten Fluxx is now available in German)
