Zsolt Attila Németh (born October 14, 1963 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian politician from Fidesz - Hungarian Citizens' Union .

Life

Zsolt Németh attended the "ELTE Radnóti Miklós Gyakorlóiskola" grammar school during the communist period, studied economics and sociology at the Karl Marx University of Economics and graduated in 1987. After that he was employed as an aspirant at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences . In 1988/89 he took a graduate degree at St Antony's College , Oxford .

Even before the political change , Németh was one of the founders of the Fidesz party in 1988. He was elected to the Hungarian Parliament in 1990 , 1994 , 1998 , 2002 , 2006 and 2010 . Németh was a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from 1993 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2010 . In 1995 he was parliamentary rapporteur on the partnership and cooperation agreement with Ukraine . During the eastward expansion of the EU , he was briefly a member of the European Parliament in 2003/2004 .

Németh was appointed Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in the Orbán I cabinet in 1998 . From 2002 he was on the Fidesz Group Bureau. Since 2010, Németh has again been State Secretary for Foreign Affairs in the Orbán II cabinet .

In 2010 he was awarded the “Odznaka Honorowa Bene Merito” medal in Poland .
