Zsuzsi Gartner

Zsuzsi Gartner (born May 4, 1960 in Winnipeg , Manitoba , Canada ) is a Canadian writer and journalist .

Life

Zsuzsi Gartner grew up in Calgary , where she later received her bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Calgary . She later received an honorary degree in journalism from Carleton University . She successfully completed her master's degree at the University of British Columbia .

Gartner began her career as a journalist with daily newspapers such as The Vancouver Sun , The Globe and Mail and magazines such as Quill & Quire and Canadian Business . For her work, she has received three Western Magazine Awards and once, in 2005, the Canadian National Magazine Awards .

Over the years Gartner published several short stories in various magazines. A collection of these was published in 1999 under the title All the Anxious Girls on Earth . For this she received a nomination for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize a year later .
