from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gasthof Zum golden Löwen is a listed inn in the city of Querfurt in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments it is recorded as a monument under registration number 094 16568 .

The former inn, the golden lion, is located at Nebrarer Strasse 1 in Querfurt. The building was destroyed in a city fire on August 26, 1678. The 15-year-old Anne Regina Lasse was killed in the cellar, where she had fled with a maid and two aunts. Her tomb in the cemetery, also known as the fire maiden, commemorates this event . The building used to have a courtyard entrance and a house entrance from the street side. During the renovation work in the 20th century, the entrance to the house was bricked up. There is a window there today. The location of the former house entrance is still recognizable, next to the window there is a hint of a column and above the window there is the golden lion that gives it its name .
