The two- flowered louse herb ( Pedicularis portenschlagii ) also two- flowered louse herb or Portenschlag louse herb belongs to the genus of the lice herbs ( Pedicularis ) in the family of the summer root plants (Orobanchaceae). Like all lice herbs, it is a semi-parasite .
description
The herbaceous perennial plant reaches heights of two to eight centimeters. The calyx is ciliate and downy-haired on the nerves, otherwise bald; The light pink crown becomes 21 - 25 (30) mm long. The corolla tube is 1.5 to twice as long as the calyx. The flower stems are terminal with only one flower stalk per leaf rosette. The inflorescence is one to three (to five) flowered. The beak of the crown upper lip is about two millimeters long, conical and only slightly set off.
Flowering time is from June to August.
Occurrence
The endemic plant in Austria is alpine and can be found scattered or rarely in the eastern central and northern Alps ( Lower Austria , Styria , Carinthia , Salzburg (in Lungau )). Moderately acidic grasslands and rock corridors are preferred as locations .
