iDreamBooks.com is a website for finding books that also as the review aggregator for book reviews is designed. It was founded in July 2012 by Rahul Simha, Vish Chapalamadugu and Mohit Aggarwal in San Francisco. The website is inspired by the movie review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes , co-founder of which Patrick Lee was an early investor in the joint venture .

Similar to the Rotten Tomatoes system, iDreamBooks.com assigns two percentages to each title: One is based on professional ratings from renowned publications (including The New Yorker , The Guardian , The Wall Street Journal , The New York Review of Books , The Independent , The Millions , The Sydney Morning Herald , etc.) as well as by authors who have been reviewed by the website and are allowed to submit reviews the other value is determined from consumer ratings. So far, the website has only taken into account new publications from six major publishers ( Hachette , HarperCollins , Macmillan , Penguin , Random House and Simon & Schuster ), but in the future it will also include both smaller publishers and classics. Revenues are generated from paid partnerships, the first of which was with Sony Reader Store. The site also licenses the data it provides and plans to offer marketing contracts for individual authors or book groups in the future.
