The Britannia Engineering Co. Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer based in Colchester, Essex . From 1896 to 1899, the company produced individual electric vehicles. Luxury automobiles were built there from 1906 to 1908. There was no connection with Britannia Engineering Company as Nottingham , which used the same brand name between 1913 and 1914.

The large cars, equipped with four or six-cylinder engines, were similar to those made by the Dutch manufacturer Spyker and had circular radiators.
