Ryknield engine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ryknield Motor Co. Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer based in Burton upon Trent , Staffordshire . 1903–1906 various passenger cars and commercial vehicles were built there.

In 1903 the 10/12 hp was introduced. It had an in-line two-cylinder engine with 1.4 l displacement and a wheelbase of 2438 mm. Presumably only a prototype was created.

Other models appeared in 1906. The 15 hp had a three-cylinder in-line engine with 2.8 l displacement, while the 20 hp had a four-cylinder engine with 3.7 l displacement. The wheelbases were 2,438 mm and 2,743 mm, respectively. Less known is the 24 hp , whose four-cylinder engine had a displacement of 6.0 l. Presumably only a prototype of it was made.

Ultimately, the too great variety of models resulted in the economic end of the company.
