The Honda Accord is a mid-size passenger car from the Japanese car manufacturer Honda . The eighth generation appeared on the German market in summer 2008. It is again a four-door sedan and a five-door station wagon ("Tourer"). In North America, the car was sold as the Acura TSX .

The model was shown for the first time in March 2008 at the Geneva Motor Show and goes back to the draft study "Accord Tourer Concept", which was shown in September 2007 at the IAA . Official sales began in Germany for the sedan on June 7, 2008 and September 6, 2008 for the station wagon.

The eighth generation of the Accord was significantly larger in length and breadth, and slightly larger in height. The station wagon is slightly longer and taller than the previous model while being the same width.

In Germany, a choice of three engines was available for both the sedan and the station wagon, which bears the name “Tourer”: two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The engine range corresponded to that of the previous model, the units have more power thanks to appropriate optimization measures.

The eighth generation was offered in three equipment lines: as Comfort (only 2.0), Elegance (2.0, 2.2 i-DTEC) and Executive , which could be combined with all engines.

Facelift

At the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011, a revised model of the Accord was presented, which was launched in April.

The headlights, the radiator grille and the bumper, which was now more angular, were changed. In addition, the chassis has been improved and the noise in the interior has been reduced. In addition, new fabrics and materials were introduced.

In the summer of 2015, Honda ceased production of the Accord intended for the European market without replacement; the 9th generation has been on the market in other markets since 2012 .
