The Honda Accord is a mid-size passenger car from the Japanese car manufacturer Honda . In contrast to the previous models, the ninth generation is no longer offered in Europe. The station wagon version was also eliminated with the model change. The Acura TLX is still identical in construction to the Accord . It is the first Honda vehicle under the new CEO Takanobu Ito .

history

Honda first presented the Accord Coupé Concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2012 . The limousine world premiere followed in August 2012. Production of the sedan and coupe started in September 2012.

The shorter Acura TLX and Honda Spirior are based on the ninth Accord generation.

Accord plug-in hybrid

A plug-in hybrid version for 2013 was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2012 . Production started on December 21, 2012. This variant was initially only available in California and New York from January 2013 . In June 2015, Honda announced that it would take the plug-in hybrid version off the market at the turn of the year in order to advance conventional engine development. The company plans to launch new plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles after the launch of a new fuel cell vehicle in 2016 .
