James Edmund Jeffries

James Edmund Jeffries (* 1. June 1925 in Detroit , Michigan ; † 22. August 1997 in Tucson , Arizona ) was an American politician of the Republican Party .

After attending public schools, Jeffries graduated from Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills in 1943 . He then served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 . From 1947 he studied at Michigan State University in Lansing . After graduating, Jeffries worked as an investment advisor from 1956 to 1979.

In 1978 he attended the Kansas State Republican Convention as a delegate and ran for a seat in Congress , to which he was eventually elected. Jeffries represented now from January 3, 1979 to January 3, 1983, the second constituency of the state of Kansas in the House of Representatives of the United States . He did not stand for election in the 1982 congressional elections. Jeffries spent his twilight years in Atchison, Kansas.
