Series A 1972/73

The Serie A 1973/74 was the 42nd season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. It began on October 7, 1973 and ended on May 19, 1974. CFC Genua 1893 , AC Cesena and US Foggia from the B series were promoted.

Lazio won the championship , becoming the successor to Juventus Turin . By winning the championship, Lazio was allowed to take part in the 1974/75 European Cup. For the UEFA Cup the following year, Juventus qualified, of Napoli , Inter Milan and AC Turin . The FC Bologna qualified as winning the Coppa Italia for the 1974-75 European Cup Winners' Cup . In the series B had to Foggia, the Genoa 1893 and descend Hellas Verona . Due to a manipulation scandal, Hellas Verona had to be relegated. For the same reason, three points were deducted from Sampdoria Genoa and six points from US Foggia.
