T. Webber Wilson

Thomas Webber Wilson (born January 24, 1893 in Coldwater , Tate County , Mississippi , † January 31, 1948 ibid) was an American politician.

Wilson studied at the law department of the University of Mississippi at Oxford and graduated in 1913. In the same year he was admitted to the bar and now practiced in Laurel , Mississippi. From 1915 to 1919 he was a Jones County attorney . He then was from 1919 to 1923 District Attorney for the 12th Judicial District of Mississippi.

Wilson was elected as a Democrat in Congress and represented there from March 4, 1923 to March 3, 1929 the state of Mississippi in the House of Representatives of the United States . Instead of running again for a seat in the House of Representatives, Wilson tried unsuccessfully to be nominated as a candidate for a candidacy for Senator in the US Senate . After leaving politics, he practiced as a lawyer again from 1928 to 1933. In 1933 he was appointed federal judge for the US Virgin Islands and held that office until 1935. From 1935 to 1947, Wilson was a member of the Department of Justice's release from prison in Washington, DC. He died in Coldwater in 1948 and was buried in Magnolia Cemetery .
