==Uncontroversial proposals==
HENOCH: Studies in [[Judaism]] and [[Christianity]] from [[Second Temple]] to [[Late Antiquity]] is an international academic Journal founded in 1979 by [[Paolo Sacchi]] ([[University of Turin]], Italy) and devoted to the diversity of [[Second Temple]] Judaism in the period following the [[Babylonian exile]], and to the interactions between formative [[Judaism]] and [[Origins of Christianity|formative Christianity]] up to the rise of [[Islam]]. Since 2005 the journal has been edited by a team of International scholars from America, Europe and Israel, chaired by [[Gabriele Boccaccini]] (University of Michigan, USA).
Only list proposals here that are ''clearly'' uncontroversial but require administrator help to complete (for example, spelling and capitalization fixes). ''Do not list a proposed page move in this section if there is any possibility that it could be opposed by anyone.'' '''Please list new requests at the bottom of the list in this section''' and use '''<nowiki>{{subst:RMassist|Old page name|Requested name|Reason for move}}</nowiki>''' rather than copying previous entries. The template will automatically include your signature. No edits to the article's talk page are required.

If you object to a proposal listed here, please re-list it in the [[#Incomplete and contested proposals]] section below.
The Journal HENOCH is published by [http://www.morcelliana.it/ Morcelliana (Brescia, Italy)], and sponsored by the [http://www.mcecs.org/ Michigan Center for Early Christian Studies]. Its website [http://www.journalhenoch.org] is edited by Todd Hanneken (University of Notre Dame, USA).

== Name, Goals, People ==
The ancient patriarch [[Enoch]] is the hero and patron, not because the interests of the Journal are restricted to [[Apocalyptic literature|“Enochic Studies,”]] but because [[Enoch]] is an inter-canonical, inter-disciplinary character par excellence and as such requires an inter-canonical, interdisciplinary approach by specialists of both Judaic and Christian Studies. [[Enoch]] is the symbol of the determination to go beyond the traditional boundaries that still divide anachronistically the field of research of ancient [[Judaism]] and [[Origins of Christianity|Christianity]].
The use of English as the major (though not exclusive) language of the Journal signals the enthusiastic embracement of the perspective of a new global society of learning. At the same time, the presence of six distinct linguistic Editorial Boards (American, French, German, Israeli, Italian, and Spanish) is aimed at giving recognition to the specific contribution of each national school to the development of the field, preserving the autonomy and richness of their distinct identities. The Editorial Boards are led by Kelley Coblentz Bautch (American Board), Kathell Berthelot (French Board), Matthias Henze (German Board), Hanan Eshel (Israeli Board), Corrado Martone (Italian Board), and Pablo Torijano Morales (Spanish Board).
The Boards of the Journal include scholars from 14 countries:
*Austria (Armin Lange, Günter Stemberger);
*Canada (Hindy Najman, Gerbern Oegema, Pierluigi Piovanelli);
*Ethiopia (Daniel Assefa);
*France (Christophe Batsch, Katell Berthelot, Tierry Legrand, Daniel Stoeck Ben Ezra);
*Germany (Andreas Bedenbender, Stefan Beyerle, Carsten Claussen, Klaus Koch, Stefan Schorch);

*Israel (Esther Eshel, Hanan Eshel, Doron Mendels, Aharon Oppenheimer, Adolfo Roitman, Michael Stone);
*Norway (Helge Kvanvig);

== History ==
The Journal HENOCH: Studi storicofilologici sull'ebraismo<ref>Information about the history of the Journal is taken from the [http://www.henochjournal.org/ Journal HENOCH website] with permission by the Editors.</ref> was founded in 1979 by [[Paolo Sacchi]], Professor of [[Hebrew]] and [[Aramaic]] at the University of Turin, Italy. The interests of the Journal ranged from the [[Bible]] to contemporary Judaic studies, but already with a clear emphasis on ancient Judaism, including [[Origins of Christianity|Christian Origins]].

* '''[[:Princess Luisa Carlotta of Bourbon-Two Sicilies]] → {{noredirect|Princess Luisa Carlotta of the Two Sicilies}}''' — Current name is anachronistic since she was born a Princess of the Two Sicilies. The B-TS form was invented for members of the family born after they lost their throne. — [[User:Charles|Charles]] 02:31, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
For the first eight years (I / 1979 – VIII /1986) the journal was published by [http://www.mariettieditore.it/ MARIETTI (Casale Monferrato, then Genoa, Italy)]. Members of the Board of Directors were Giovanni Garbini, Luigi Moraldi, [[Paolo Sacchi]], Jan [[Alberto Soggin]], and Giuliano Tamani. Bruno Chiesa was then primarily in charge for the composition of the journal.

==Incomplete and contested proposals==
In 1987 the Publisher [http://www.zamorani.com/ ZAMORANI (Turin, Italy)] took the responsibility of the journal and in 1989 (until XVII / 1995) Bruno Chiesa became the new Editor-in-Chief. The Board of Directors gradually expanded over the years to include: Bruno Chiesa, Giovanni Garbini, Luigi Moraldi, [[Paolo Sacchi]], Jan Alberto Soggin, Giuliano Tamani, Angelo Vivian, Giulio Busi, Luigi Cagni, Claudio Gianotto, Alexander Rofé. Pier Giorgio Borbone was now primarily in charge for the composition of the Journal.
'''With the exception of a brief description of the problem or objection to the move request, please do not discuss move requests here.''' If you support an incomplete or contested move request, please consider following the instructions above to create a full move request, and move the discussion to the "Other Proposals" section below. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.
<!--Please place new contested proposals at the TOP of the list, with a blank line between separate proposals -->

*'''[[:Linux]] → [[:Linux (GNU/Linux)]]''' —(''[[Talk:Linux#Requested move|Discuss]]'')— this would allow both names to be treated equally, without bias to either one. And neutrality is one of Wikipedia's top mandates after all. [[User:Ensign Q|Ensign Q]] ([[User talk:Ensign Q|talk]]) 23:13, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
In XVIII / 1996 (until XXVI / 2004) Claudio Gianotto succeeded Bruno Chiesa as the new Editor-in-Chief. The Board of Directors was limited to [[Paolo Sacchi]], Bruno Chiesa, Claudio Gianotto, and (since 1999) Florentino García Martínez. A new large, international Advisory Board was created: Haggai Ben-Shammai, Gabriele Boccaccini, Giulio Busi, Luigi Cagni, Alexander A. Di Lella, Enrico Norelli, Michele Piccirillo, Alexander Rofé, J. Alberto Soggin, Günter Stemberger, and Giulio Tamani. Corrado Martone was now primarily in charge for the composition of the journal.

* '''[[:Value (philosophy)]] → {{noredirect|Value (ethics)}}''' — The whole article deals with "ethic or philosophic value", but ethics may be regarded as a subdivision of philosophy, and the whole article, as far as I can see, only deals with that subdivision. For instance, intrinsic value already has (ethics) as an attribute. I know many redirects need to be changed, but I can deal with the main part of that. — [[User:The world deserves the truth|The world deserves the truth]] ([[User talk:The world deserves the truth|talk]]) 11:02, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
In 2005, a new series was launched. The Journal was taken by a new Publisher, [http://www.morcelliana.it/ Morcelliana (Brescia, Italy)]. As signified by the new subtitle: Studies in [[Judaism]] and [[Christianity]] from [[Second Temple]] to [[Late Antiquity]], the Journal shifted its focus from the broader field of Judaic Studies to the period following the [[Babylonian exile]] up to the rise of [[Islam]]. The journal took advantage of the renewed interesting in [[Judaism]] and [[Christianity]] of [[Late Antiquity]] as well as of the international success of the [[Enoch seminar|Enoch Seminar]] in the field of [[Second Temple]] Judaism and [[Origins of Christianity|Christian Origins]]. The new Board of Directors included professors from the University of Turin and the University of Michigan: [[Paolo Sacchi]], [[Gabriele Boccaccini]], Yaron Eliav, Claudio Gianotto, and Corrado Martone. [[Gabriele Boccaccini]] was appointed as the New Editor-in-Chief. The new structure of Henoch includes six National Editorial Boards (American, French, German, Israeli, Italian, Spanish), and an expanded, international Advisory Board. Giovanni Ibba is now primarily in charge for the composition of the journal.
:The article is a bit messy, but it does speak about values other than ethics (e.g. economics). It would be sensible to discuss before moving. [[Special:Contributions/87.114.17.201|87.114.17.201]] ([[User talk:87.114.17.201|talk]]) 13:48, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
::The fact that it doesn't clearly mean ethic value specifically probably contributes significantly to the mess. Value (economics) already has an own article - the article just describes the possible correlation between it and ethic value. I suggest this discussion be continued on its talk page. *[[Bosnian mujahideen]]->[[Mujahideen in Bosnia and Herzegovina]] (The first title is not accurate, the second one includes official name of the country related to the subject. The country's name is [[Bosnia and Herzegovina]], not [[Bosnia]]. Further more, the first title is not supported by the sources and gives wrong impression). I was advised by admin [[User:Philip Baird Shearer|PBS]] to place an offical request here. [[User:Kruško Mortale|Kruško Mortale]] ([[User talk:Kruško Mortale|talk]]) 08:21, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Not all minor planets are asteroids, and which are asteroids is a contentious issue, as the term is poorly defined. The only reason I bring it up for discussion is because there are hundreds of sub-articles to be moved, which will require a bot. Administrator instructions

Requested moves is a process for requesting the retitling (moving) of an article, template, or project page on Wikipedia. For retitling files, categories and other items, see When not to use this page.

Please read the article titling policy and the guideline regarding primary topics before moving a page or requesting a page move.

Any autoconfirmed user can use the Move function to perform most moves (see Help:How to move a page). If you have no reason to expect a dispute concerning a move, be bold and move the page. However, it may not always be possible or desirable to do this:

  • Technical reasons may prevent a move; for example, a page may already exist at the target title and require deletion, or the page may be protected from moves. See: § Requesting technical moves.
  • Requests to revert recent, undiscussed, controversial moves may be made at WP:RM/TR. If the new name has not become the stable title, the undiscussed move will be reverted. If the new name has become the stable title, a requested move will be needed to determine the article's proper location.
  • A title may be disputed, and discussion may be necessary to reach consensus: see § Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves. The requested moves process is not mandatory, and sometimes an informal discussion at the article's talk page can help reach consensus.
  • Unregistered and new (not yet autoconfirmed) users are unable to move pages.

Requests are generally processed after seven days. If consensus to move the page is reached at or after this time, a reviewer will carry out the request. If there is a consensus not to move the page, the request will be closed as "not moved". When consensus remains unclear, the request may be relisted to allow more time for consensus to develop, or the discussion may be closed as "no consensus". See Wikipedia:Requested moves/Closing instructions for more details on the process.

Wikipedia:Move review can be used to contest the outcome of a move request as long as all steps are followed. If a discussion on the closer's talk page does not resolve an issue, then a move review will evaluate the close of the move discussion to determine whether or not the contested close was reasonable and consistent with the spirit and intent of common practice, policies, and guidelines.

When not to use this page

Separate processes exist for moving certain types of pages, and for changes other than page moves:

Undiscussed moves

Autoconfirmed editors may move a page without discussion if all of the following apply:

  • No article exists at the new target title;
  • There has been no previous discussion about the title of the page that expressed any objection to a new title; and
  • It seems unlikely that anyone would reasonably disagree with the move.

If you disagree with a prior bold move, and the new title has not been in place for a long time, you may revert the move yourself. If you cannot revert the move for technical reasons, then you may request a technical move.

Move wars are disruptive, so if you make a bold move and it is reverted, do not make the move again. Instead, follow the procedures laid out in § Requesting controversial and potentially controversial moves.

Uncontroversial proposals

Only list proposals here that are clearly uncontroversial but require administrator help to complete (for example, spelling and capitalization fixes). Do not list a proposed page move in this section if there is any possibility that it could be opposed by anyone. Please list new requests at the bottom of the list in this section and use {{subst:RMassist|Old page name|Requested name|Reason for move}} rather than copying previous entries. The template will automatically include your signature. No edits to the article's talk page are required.

If you object to a proposal listed here, please re-list it in the #Incomplete and contested proposals section below.

Incomplete and contested proposals

With the exception of a brief description of the problem or objection to the move request, please do not discuss move requests here. If you support an incomplete or contested move request, please consider following the instructions above to create a full move request, and move the discussion to the "Other Proposals" section below. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

  • LinuxLinux (GNU/Linux) —(Discuss)— this would allow both names to be treated equally, without bias to either one. And neutrality is one of Wikipedia's top mandates after all. Ensign Q (talk) 23:13, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Incomplete. JPG-GR (talk) 23:38, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Value (philosophy)Value (ethics) — The whole article deals with "ethic or philosophic value", but ethics may be regarded as a subdivision of philosophy, and the whole article, as far as I can see, only deals with that subdivision. For instance, intrinsic value already has (ethics) as an attribute. I know many redirects need to be changed, but I can deal with the main part of that. — The world deserves the truth (talk) 11:02, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
The article is a bit messy, but it does speak about values other than ethics (e.g. economics). It would be sensible to discuss before moving. 87.114.17.201 (talk) 13:48, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
The fact that it doesn't clearly mean ethic value specifically probably contributes significantly to the mess. Value (economics) already has an own article - the article just describes the possible correlation between it and ethic value. I suggest this discussion be continued on its talk page. The world deserves the truth (talk) 17:49, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Bosnian mujahideen->Mujahideen in Bosnia and Herzegovina (The first title is not accurate, the second one includes official name of the country related to the subject. The country's name is Bosnia and Herzegovina, not Bosnia. Further more, the first title is not supported by the sources and gives wrong impression). I was advised by admin PBS to place an offical request here. Kruško Mortale (talk) 08:21, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
    • Incomplete. No place for discussion of this move is provided and no link to it. For what it's worth, the existing discussion touches on this point but I see no consensus for this move. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 16:00, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

  • RocRoc (disambiguation) —(Discuss)— A few users insist on redirecting Roc to Republic of China so much that they actually keep blanking this dab page, so I guess I have no choice but to "request" a move myself. In case it's not clear, I oppose this move. --Prolog (talk) 18:14, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
  • (Discuss) — These are not lists of the asteroids, but of all numbered minor planets. 'Minor planet' is the technical term used by the International Astronomical Union. Not all minor planets are asteroids, and which are asteroids is a contentious issue, as the term is poorly defined. JPL/NASA say on their websites that the Kuiper Belt Objects, among others, are better called "minor planets" than "asteroids", and no-one would call Pluto an asteroid, despite the fact that it has been issued a minor-planet number and is on the list. The only reason I bring it up for discussion is because there are hundreds of sub-articles to be moved, which will require a bot. (Oh, and "SSSB" will not work either, as it excludes the dwarf planets, which are on the list, but includes the comets, which are not.) —kwami (talk) 03:16, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Azerbaijani peopleAzeri people —(Discuss)— The subject of this Featured Article is the Azeri ethnic group, but the title refers to inhabitants of Azerbaijan, some of whom are not Azeri. Also, half of Azeris live not in Azerbaijan but in Iran. --kwami (talk) 01:39, 9 October 2008 (UTC) kwami (talk) 01:39, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

I have made another proposal to rename this "natural born citizen", to reflect how it is written in the U.S. Constitution. — Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 01:06, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
  • List of Canadians of Asian ancestryAsian Canadian —(Discuss)— I am requesting a full move. I want the article to be about Asian Canadians in general just like the Asian American Article and the Asian Australian Article. I also want to remove the list of asian names and put them in a separate article. --Sonic99 (talk) 02:14, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Move dated sections here after five days have passed (May 21 or older).

  • SS Komagata MaruKomagata Maru —(Discuss)— The move is necessary to eliminate duplication of pages and to provide for the proper nomenclature for the ship's name. At present the details concerning the ship, Komagata Maru, are under "SS Komagata Maru." As has been noted on that page, the proper nomenclature should be "Komagata Maru." (See also Japanese ship naming conventions.) A "Komagata Maru" page already exists, which is a redirect to the "SS Komagata Maru" page. The move would eliminate the duplication of pages. --Macman1956 (talk) 04:01, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
  • Ambitionz az a RidahAmbitionz Az a Ridah —(Discuss)— Normally, "as" or any variation thereof is not capitalized, but, as incorrect as it may be, it is capitalized for the title of this song. Everytime I try to change the page, Sesshomaru acuses me of vandalising the page, a page I created myself, without attempting to discuss the topic on the talk page. --Wakamusha (talk) 00:36, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
  • RightRights(Discuss) — target name is currently a redirect to current name; very old consensus on talk page suggested this move, but it never happened — Pfhorrest (talk) 08:12, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
    • That old discussion is very short. More discussion is needed. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:33, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
