The Valley Parade (full name: Valley Parade Stadium through sponsorship agreement officially Northern Commercials Stadium ) is a football stadium in the English city Bradford , in the metropolitan county of West Yorkshire , United Kingdom . Today the venue offers visitors 25,136 covered seats.

history

Valley Parade has been Bradford City's home ground since the club was founded in 1903 and since 1886, when the previous club was still active in rugby under the name Manningham FC .

On May 11, 1985, Valley Parade was the site of one of the greatest stadium disasters in British history when the main stand went up in flames during a game. 56 spectators were killed in the Valley Parade fire disaster .

Visitor record and average attendance

39,146 fans gathered in Valley Parade for the fourth round game in the 1910/11 FA Cup on March 11, 1911 between Bradford City and Burnley FC (1-0). The record in the age of modern seating stadiums was set on March 7, 2015. The game of the 6th round of the 2014/15 FA Cup between Bradford City and Reading FC (0-0) drew 24,321 spectators to the stadium.
