After the end, the stadium will be called Broadfield Stadium again. Since mid-December 2018 it has been called Peoples Pension Stadium .

history

Broadfield Stadium replaced the old Town Mead Ground after 48 years . The £ 5.2 million facility was officially opened on October 19, 1997 by UK Sports Secretary Tony Banks . Crawley Town and Port Vale met for the first game at Broadfield Stadium on July 24th of that year .

The main grandstand in the west was the only tier in Broadfield with seats until 2012 and extends two thirds of the length of the pitch. A small part of the places is reserved for the guest fans at the northern end; In addition, it also accommodates the spaces for visitors in wheelchairs. The rows of seats in the building are raised, which improves the overview of the game. Inside are the changing rooms, the club offices, the hospitality area with restaurant, bar and pub as well as the fan shop. The stadium also has an air-conditioned business center with 160 seats for conferences, seminars, weddings, anniversaries and similar events with 200 seats.

Mainly the fans of the opposing team are accommodated in the covered standing area in the north. The two back-end stands run around the corners of the playing field and connect to the main stand. Until 2012 the East Stand was a standing truss before a new building replaced it. In April 2012, the association opened the new East stand with 2,154 seats; this increased the capacity from around 5,000 to almost 6,000 spectators. The £ 1 million construction cost is split between the club and a grant from the Football Foundation . As part of the renaming of the stadium, the East Stand was named Checkatrade.com Stand .
