The team was founded in 1998, at the time under the name ASC–Guilhabreu–Vila do Conde, and was professional between 2002 and 2007. However, the last two years as a professional team, 2006 and 2007, União Ciclista de Vila do Conde was associated with Vitória SC of Guimarães, with the team being known as Vitória–ASC.[1]
