Michael Gross (born 1952 in New York City), is an author and journalist. He went to Vassar College.

His most recent book is 740 Park: The Story of the World's Richest Apartment Building (Broadway Books, 2005). Previously he published Genuine Authentic: The Real Life of Ralph Lauren (Harper Collins, 2002), My Generation: Fifty Years of Sex, Drugs, Rock, Revolution, Glamour, Greed, Valor, Faith and Silicon Chips (Cliff Street Books, 2000) and Model: The Ugly Business of Beautiful Women (William Morrow, 1995).

He is a contributing editor of Travel and Leisure magazine; has been a guest editor of gawker.com and has also written extensively for the The New York Times, New York magazine, Esquire magazine, GQ, Vanity Fair, Town & Country and The Times.
